Middle School COVID Planning for Full Return in Fall 2021

Please note that based on current Connecticut Department of Health (CTDPH) and Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) guidelines, at this time, the following procedures will be implemented for our full return to school this year.  These plans may be updated and/or adjusted based on new updates and information from the CSDE and the CTDPH.

Daily Announcements

Do you enjoy puzzles, yearbook, games, drama/theater, legos, or skiing? How about interest in the environment, music/band, math and technology, or broader issues that are important to you? Check out the Student Clubs and Activities that you could get involved in during the school year!

Running:

  • GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) - Meets every other Wednesday from 2:20-3:00pm in Room 136.
  • Drama United - Meets every Tuesday & Thursday from 2:25-3:40pm in the High School Auditorium. If you missed the first meeting or rehearsal - please join us to start your membership! All inclusive theater, no auditions or cuts, everyone is welcome, stage crew help needed as well.
  • Math Club - Meets every Wednesday from 2:15-3:15pm in Room 100. All grades, all levels of math abilities are welcome!
  • Card Game Club - Meets alternate Thursdays from 2:15-3:45pm in Room 103. Card games and board games of all kinds are welcome and encouraged! Contact Mr. Conroy for more information.
  • Environmental Club - Meets every Thursday at 2:15-3:00pm in Room 115.
  • Jazz Band - Meets every Tuesday from 2:15-3:30pm. Students should sign-up on the bulletin board in the Music Hallway.
  • Yearbook Club - began October 5th after school until 3:30 pm in Rm 123. All are welcome, please contact Ms. Sinosky or Mrs. Allard for more details.
  • Drama Club (RMS) - began with it's informational meeting on October 6th from 2:20-3:30 pm in the High School Auditorium. More details to come.
  • Lego Club - began October 6th from 2:15-3:30 pm in Rm 123. Come build with your friends where Everyone is a Master Builder! Contact Ms. Sinsosky for more information.


Ongoing After School Help:

  • PM Study - Meets every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday immediately after school. Grade 7 will meet in Room 112. Grade 8 will meet in Room 205. Please see school counselor for a PM Study Contract.
  • Math Lab - Meets every Tuesday, Room 101, Mrs. Kane.
  • Writing Lab - Meets every Wednesday, Room 110, Mrs. Day-Canty.

 

Upcoming:

Ski & Snowboard Club:  The Ski & Snowboard Club Advisors are excited to announce that we are able to run the club this winter! The trips are scheduled for the following Tuesdays, from 2:10-8:00 pm; January 4, 11, 18, 25, and February 1 (make up February 8).

 

The cost for lift tickets and coach bus transportation will be approximately $308.
Lessons would be an additional $95 and rentals are an additional $135.


Please let us know if your MIDDLE School student is likely to join the club by taking the survey found within this week's Raptor Report. More information will be sent home in the coming week and "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE" signups will be at the end of October.
